Methinks nobody can understand it. So the end must be imminent. The only time I heard it used it was word for word from the WT.

And then it is translated Into 100 languages? So much for rhyme, meter and poetic content. They never use any poetic tricks like reversing word orders and heaven forbid finding any thee, thou or king jamesy sounding words. 30 years after leaving utterly unrecognisable

this is the first time i have posted on here in many years..... i seldom visit now although this forum was instrumental to me in gaining my sanity in the early 2000's and recovering from the watchtower religion.. by chance tonight i was on youtube and caught a jw.org video which out of curiosity prompted me to look at the official website and amongst other things i looked up the music section.. why that i hear you ask?

music is my passion and nothing reminds me more or evokes more memories than the kingdom songs i grew up listening to.. i am 49 years old and my mother was baptised in 1974. i grew up in the era of pink songbooks and green bibles.

Long prayers

did you have one or two brother with way too long prayers in your congregation?

when i was a child we had a brother who would go on and on after the watchtower study for at least five minutes.

many elderly sisters just sat down and a lot were complaining after the long desired amen..

The reference to not watching news was on a broadcast. If you dont know about an event you cannot form an opinion or discuss it with householders. No matter that it makes you look like an ignoramus to most everyone

Interesting. They do not want to get back what they lost in Africa but to get ahead here. Remember the slavers were black Africans working for arabs with names like Obama. The slaves were taken from poorer tribes in war/raids

my pimi wife listens to a lot of the meetings on the phone with the speaker on.

when i am watching tv i hear the meetings in the background.

What is the biggest doctrinal mistake made by the Watchtower /JWorg. ?

personally i think it is 1914 and the following " this generation " doctrine.. this particular doctrine went right against jesus's own words of " no one knows of the time not even he " .

he also admonished his true followers to not set a time upon god's own sacred time .. the leaders of the wts even back to the late 1800's set a time calculated on their own theology 1874 being the first time set and proclaimed by c t russell, also proclaiming 1914 would likely be the year of the final day of judgment armageddon.

all throughout the 20th century the wts held to this doctrine but was eventually revised of course when it was realized this generation had passed away who saw the events of 1914. .
